It must run in the family...

I came home today, walked into my room and found Cinderella and Snow White dangling from their necks by the power cord to my alarm clock. Some might find this scary, maybe a little unnerving, especially coming from a 3 year old. But I find it normal, and somewhat hilarious. I'm not going to name names, but I think that this must run in the family.

Easter Eggs!

This Easter was really fun. Our neighborhood prepared to have an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday down the whole street. We all put eggs filled with goodies in our front yard, and then at 9am we all went down the street and the kids went crazy! It was really fun, we pushed Crew in the stroller and Kaylee got a basket full of candy which she quickly inhaled about half the candy. (we have since put the candy in a safe spot out of her reach).

Sunday was fun too. At Church I tried desperately to instill in the minds of my Sunbeam class (they are 3 year olds for those of you who aren't familiar) that Easter is not about the Easter Bunny, but about Jesus being Resurrected. I think most of them grasped the idea, but probably forgot everything as soon as they walked out the door. Oh well, I tried.

After Church we went to my parents house for ANOTHER Easter egg hung (no wonder kids get confused!). We also had the classic ham and potatoes for dinner. I didn't take any pictures of the kids in their Easter outfits, but they were adorable... I am considering dressing them up again just to have some cute pictures... but that's alot of work...

Please tip your server...

Well, I officially started serving tonight. It is harder than it looks believe it or not. I am still technically training, but I got a good taste of what it's like to be on your own on the floor serving. It was non-stop, and I found myself by the end of the night wanting to sit down with the customers and have a drink and some tostada chips with salsa! The hardest part so far is knowing what goes in the alcoholic beverages, and what goes on top of them as well (lime, orange, cherry, etc.) The other servers say it will come to me eventually though.

Slip Covers!

My lovely sister and brother-in-law gave us a wonderful (brand spankin' new) sofa, two arm chairs, and a coffee table from IKEA! They are just so perfect! The only problem with the whole set is that it is 100% white. And not just white, it's white canvas! Now if you have little kids, you'll understand that this could turn out to be a big problem. Well, I took a trip to IKEA to purchase some darker slip covers for the set, and WOW! They are expensive! So I am now searching Ebay every day hoping that someone will eventually put up the colors that I want. What I want is the sofa to be a dark brown, and the chairs like a bright lime green. I know it sounds weird, but it would look so sweet in my house. But if anyone wants to be generous for my birthday coming up, I wouldn't mind that either... hehe...

Biggest LOSER!

My scale and I are fighting right now.... (he's known to hold a grudge).

Whitney Pockets

So Chris says I am a blogging slacker since two people have already blogged about the trip we took this past weekend. We had such a good time!

We left Wednesday night to drive to St. George. Then Thursday we left St. George to head for Whitney Pockets, which is just south of Mesquite, NV. We stayed thru Saturday and everyone from Chris' immediate family was there for at least one night. Kaylee had so much fun with all of her cousins, she climed huge rocks, made a clubhouse, and went on several adventures. Crew stayed with me for the most part, but the last day I let him on the ground to play with his cousins and of course with the trucks. Chris had a blast shooting guns and riding his atv. I had a good time visiting with all the in-laws, and I got to read a little bit.

On Saturday night we celebrated Chris' birthday by have a feast of spagetti at his mom's house. Sunday we packed up and headed home... we also brought home something very special for me... but I'll blog about that a little later.

Oh and on the way home we went thru Jacob's Lake and Kaylee got to play in the snow for a little, and have an icicle sword fight with Chris. All-in-all, a great trip and I can't wait to go again next year!

Weeds!

So Chris and I just spent two hours at our rental property picking enough weeds to fill a whole trash can (the one that goes on the street). And to top it off, that was just the front yard! We're going to let the tenant take care of the back. Does anyone know what to do to make it so the weeds don't come back? Or at least something easier than picking them all? Prefferably something that is not going to make us go broke either... any advice out there?
