Motherly Insticts

I took Kaylee to the last "Summer Movie Fun" day today. It was Wallace and Grommet (cute movie). When the movie ended Kaylee and I got up (Crew was with Andrea, he's not well behaved in the movies anymore), we were walking toward the exit and a boy that was probably about 7 or 8 came running into the movie theater. Kaylee was slightly behind me, so I turned to grab her and get her out of his way, but just as I turned around, BAM! He hit Kaylee football tackle style! She went flying backwards (popcorn flying), and landed on her back! The boy paused, looked back and kept running away!! I was SHOCKED! I yelled, "Excuse ME!" (only thing I could think of), but he didn't turn around. I gathered Kaylee up, crying and all. I was so upset! I know accidents happen, but to not stop and say sorry, or help the little girl up? Who has taught this child manners? I waited outside the theater, ready to beat the living tar out of this child when he came out, I've never before felt so compelled to protect my child...but then I realized that probably wouldn't be the best example for Kaylee. So instead I just explained to her that his behavior was very rude, and that we were better than him.

Ready for School!

Kaylee and I went school shopping today. She got to pick out two outfits, a new pair of shoes, a backpack and one folder! She was sooo happy, she wanted to take a photo shoot when we got home. I kid you not, she did all of these cute poses on her own! She should be a model! Not to mention a bargain shopper! She picked out good deals(she takes after her mom).

Which One?

Ok, so I am having a little trouble deciding how to decorate my house. I first decided with the yellows and greens based with some dark brown... but Chris isn't lovin it. He would like something a little less bold, more neutral. I don't have a problem with neutral, I just don't want boreing. So I made both of these curtains, let me know which one you like better.

Memory Game

Here is a fun little game... leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. Come on, it'll be fun, just try it!

Allergic

I took Crew to an Allergist yesterday to finally see what he is really allergic to. Here's a list of the things they tested for:

Dogs: Yes
Cats: No
Feathers: Yes
Eggs: Yes
Peas: Yes
Mold: Yes

The doctor wants me to avoid giving him any eggs period! Even if they are baked, fried, or whatever. He says that is most likely why his eczema is so bad. He also prescribed some steroid cream for that and also an epi-pen in case he has a bad allergic reaction to something. He'll get tested again next year for the same things to see if he's grown out of them or not. Hopefully it's not too hard to have an egg free diet!

30 Years and More

A few weekends ago my sister, sister-in-law, and I threw a surprise 30th Anniversary party for my Mom and Dad. They had no idea! It was so great. All of my dad's family drove in from California and my mom's sister came too! I prepared a video montage of them from childhood till now and there wasn't a dry eye in the room! My sister-in-law also wrote this wonderful poem, it was funny and cute and also a tear jerker! I am just so amazed at how much love my parents still have for eachother after 30 years. I look up to them in so many ways, and I just know that if Chris and I can have one tenth of the love they share, we will be happy forever!
