Happy Birthday Crew!

It's been one year since our little "Crewster" was born. It's been a great year and he's just so much fun to watch and see what he'll do next! He just got his first tooth about a week ago! So now he's ready to have some cake for his birthday! We aren't going to have a party for him till next weekend, so I wont have pictures of that till later, but I just wanted to let everyone else know that it's his birthday and he's lovin it!

Kaylee and The Dentist...

I must be a horrible mother! My poor Kaylee went to the dentist today to get some work done on her little teeth. She had 4 cavities, and one that was so bad they had to put a cap on it! Kaylee was a trooper though, she had a smile on her face the whole time.

While we waited in the front room Kaylee played and read books, and was having a blast. The drugs they gave Kaylee were to get her really loopy and tired. I had to sit with her while they went into effect, and (this is where the bad mother comes in) I couldn't stop laughing! She was hilarious! It was like watching your child get drunk! Once she was pretty wasted they took her back and did the work. Shortly after they brought her out to me. She could hardly talk, but they gave her an otter-pop and she kept waiving it around and poked me in the eye! I again couldn't stop laughing, and that just makes Kaylee mad, so she started screaming! I was trying to pay and get out of there as fast as I could.

I had to run to Target on the way home to get some milk and a few things, and she passed out in the basket. Poor Kaylee!

Creepy Crawlers!

I was out with Kaylee and Crew today and Kaylee says, "Mom! I have to go potty!" So of course we make a run for the bathrooms. Luckily we made it in time and Kaylee sat down to go potty and I thought, "Hmm, I'll just change Crew while I'm in here waiting for her." So I put him on the changing table they had and pulled out my diaper changing pack (it carries all my diapers, wipes, and has a neat changing pad in there too), I go to un-Velcro it and BAM! There is a huge black spider just crawling around! I scream, throw the thing on the floor (accidentally in Kaylee's direction), and then think, "Oh crap did it fly onto Kaylee?!" So I look frantically all over Kaylee and it's no where to be seen (she seemed confused the whole time), then I glance back over to the diaper pack and there it is! I try to kick it off, but I'm wearing sandals so it was a little harder than normal. In the end, the nasty spider went to 'spider heaven'.

You might be asking yourself, "How did a spider get into your diaper bag? Probably some food left in it?" Well, no, I don't keep food in my diaper bag unless it is sealed in a Tupperware, and there was no food in there at the time.

Lately Chris has been opening the front and back doors at the same time to let a cross breeze in the house to cut down on our air conditioning bill. I am totally against it for several reasons, one of them being the bugs that crawl in! Needless to say, I called Chris and yelled at him and told him, "No More!" I'm ok with windows being open because they have screens that don't let bugs in, and still give our house proper ventilation. Chris still thinks that bugs just don't crawl in through the front door, but I say that if they see an open invitation they're going to take it!

Impressed

Just recently I stopped nursing Crew and switched him over to milk. All of my friends said to skip the bottle and go straight into the sippy cup. I bought several different types of sippy's trying to find the one that Crew would most easily transition. I came across the Nuby Sport Sipper and it does kind of look like a bottle, (but it's really a sippy cup) and Crew is doing great. I purchased four of these (and they aren't cheap), and turns out only one of the four lids doesn't leak! I was upset because I knew I couldn't take them back to Target so I went online yesterday and went to the Nuby website and wrote them an email. To my surprise they are going to just send me 5 replacement tops for free! WOW! To say the least I was very impressed at how quick and considerate their response was! Go Nuby!

Old People and Foreigners

Since I've been working as a server at Chili's (I love it, and it's been great... if you're wondering), I have noticed that when it comes to the "Older Generation" and the "Foreigners" they aren't as knowledgeable in the tipping department. I give out great service and I know they recognize that, but for some reason they still think that 10% is the tip amount. Do they realize that I am making $3.75 an hour?! Chris and I went to this Japanese restaurant and on the bill at the bottom they put what a 15% tip and a 20% tip would be! Genius! I wish Chili's would invest, then I might be able to afford those slip covers I want!

Man Eating Plant

Sorry I didn't mention this in my previous post, but my good friends Rachel, and Camille pulled together and got me this plant for my birthday. It's a crazy looking plant, and I assume they got it for me because I am a little crazy at times. I don't even know what it's called, it's some strange name I can't pronounce, so I forgot. It's pink so it's cute. But the thing is so sharp and pointy I can't touch it! I have to keep it up high so my kids don't try and touch it either... It's leaning to one side where the main flower is coming out, and it's fallen over twice already. Pray that this plant will last long, because I know I can't take care of it like it needs!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday was yesterday, and I have to say it was probably one of the best birthday's that I have had in a long long time! I got to celebrate it with my friends on Friday night and my family on Saturday night!

Friday night we went to dinner at The White Chocolate Grill out in Scottsdale. It was sooo good. The food was amazing, and the place was so fancy! I was able to go with my other friend Rachel whose birthday also happened to be yesterday! We went with Camille and her husband, and also my neighbors Chad and Lisa. After dinner we went back to Rachel's house and had the best coconut cake I have ever had in my life. (You need to get me that recepie Rachel!)

On Saturday my family and I went to a quick mexican dinner (my fave), at Caramba's, then we went and rode Go Karts! It was seriously so much fun! Chris of course kicked everyone's trash, but on the first race I had the second fastest average, and the third fastest lap time! Go me! The second race my dad decided to go and he started out right behind me. He was on my tail for almost two laps when we were going around a tight corner and he clipped the back of my go-kart and sent me crashing into the wall. My ankle slammed into the frame of the go-kart and I could hear my back and neck pop in two different places (I'm ok now, my ankle hurts a little though). But yea, my dad beat me that time. I got some really nice stuff for my birthday too. I got some money, a nice decorative plate, and a flat iron. With some of the money I went out and bought a foot massager (it will be so nice for after work). Thanks to everyone who made my birthday a special day for me! I love ya!

Stay-At-Home-Daddy

Since I've been working nights at Chili's it's been a little hectic here around the house. Chris never really understood all the work it takes to take care of two kids. In the beginning I would come home to Kaylee passed out on the floor, toys scattered everywhere, Crew asleep in his crib(fully dressed in regular clothes), dishes all over the table (cereal bowls and crackers to be exact), and then Chris sitting in the middle of the living room floor staring at the TV while he played XBox! I was a little more than stressed to see all of this everynight! We had a talk, and I think things are changing now. Last night I came home and the dishes were in the sink (he actually made chicken with veggies!), the toys were put away, the kids were in their pj's in bed, but yes, Chris was still playing XBox... oh well! I think he realizes that it does take a little effort to manage the kids and keep a clean house. Hopefully he will appreciate that clean house a little more everyday he comes home from work now. So if your man ever asks you, "What did you do today that was so hard?" Just get a night job and let them handle it!
