PHOOSON!!!!

Phooson was great! We got there a little late due to the fact that I was a little drugged up (I'll tell you some other time if you care to know), but we still made it to see some good acts. We had lawn seats, which is basically just some grass very far away from the stage. Chris and I snuck into the seats below for a few of the performances, but we got kicked out after Katie Perry and had to go sit on the grass.

I felt so young that night, maybe it's because I was surrounded by thousands of 12-14 year olds, or maybe it's because I didn't have to watch my own kids. Either way, it was a really great time and I'm pretty sure Chris enjoyed it too. (Especially the Pussy Cat Dolls).

Well over-due.

Thanksgiving was great! After I got done with the previous blog, we started to drive up the mountain toward the cabin, and not too shortly after...we were completely lost! Yes, it was my fault. First I gave the wrong directions to Chris, then when he suspected we were lost, I said, "No, we're going the right way, it's just a little further." I then climbed into the drivers seat and drove us 30 miles in the wrong direction... it was a long night, and if I haven't formally apologized to Chris yet... I'm sorry!

The rest of the time was great. Mostly just relaxing, playing the Wii, and pool, and doing puzzles. We ate ALOT, thanks to my awesome Aunt Sandy. She's the best! Kaylee had a blast, and so did Crew.
He is a manic dipper, if there is any sort of dip around he must put his chip or cracker in it. I caught him trying to reach some dip on the table... too cute!

We also went fishing... unsuccessfully. Not a bite! But it was still fun, and cold.

Driving and Blogging...

Isn't technology great?! Chris is driving right now and I am surfing the internet! We are on our way to the cabin up in Big Bear Lake, CA. It is raining and right now, and most likely snowing up there. We are meeting up with my dad's side of the family for our Thanksgiving Feast! This should be a great weekend of fun. Hopefully I can snap a few good pics and have something to post when I get back home! Happy Thanksgiving all! Hope yours is safe and fun!

Ok...Tagged AGAIN!

4th and 4th

1. Go to your picture files on your computer

2. Go to the 4th folder

3. Go to the 4th picture in the 4th folder

4. Post it and tell what you remember about that picture.

I found this picture in the fourth position in the fourth folder. This was Kaylee for Halloween when she had just turned two. She was a pirate! Super cute! I was pregnant with Crew at the time, and we were at the neighbors house having our annual Halloween Party! It was the first of many!

I will tag: Jobey, Laura, Michelle, and Suzee!

Winner Winner!

Last night I was driving home from Costco, and I noticed on my car radio (where the artist and song are usually displayed) it looked like this:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PHOOSON TIX @ 5:35!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked at the clock and it was 5:35! *For those of you that don't know, Phooson is a concert that this radio station hold every year and it has tons of sweet artists at it.*
So I got my cell phone out and thought, "What the heck, I'll give it a try."
It was busy.... darn! So I hung up and tried just one more time.... ring!!
Guess who was caller 104, and won two tickets to PHOOSON!?!?!
Yes, that's right, it was me! I even got to listen to myself on the radio... I sounded so dumb! But this was the first time I've ever won anything, so I was really excited and shocked at the same time!

My little Quirks

Jamie tagged me, and I guess I have to do this. It's taken me some time to think of little quirks about me, so here goes...

Rules; 1 Link the person who tagged you. 2 Mention the rules on your blog. 3 Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. 4 Tag 6 other bloggers by linking them.

1. Whenever I am at work and I have to sweep the floor, or when I am at home vacuuming or mopping, I put my tongue to the roof of my mouth. I have no idea why, it just happens.

2. When I am drying my hair, straightening it, or even just putting on my makeup, I stand on the outer edges of my feet. I think this is inherited cause my mom does the same thing.

3. In the mornings when I wake up and get out of bed, my feet feel like they are "asleep", and I walk like Frankenstein (according to Chris), until I start to get feeling back in them again.

4. I am obsessed about things being in their "place." My house doesn't necessarily have to be spotless, but everything has a place, and I could tell you where anything in my house is. Even if it's in a box packed away for a long time, I'll remember.

5. I have a really good short term memory. I don't take down orders at work, and I don't take down direction when I'm given them. I visualize what is being told to me and I'll remember it. I can even remember phone numbers for years if I just dial it at least twice.

6. When I go running, my right hand is relaxed and my left hand is squeezed into a tiny fist. I have tried to relax it, but it just goes back into a tiny fist...weird!

Alrighty that's it. Maybe everyone already knew all of that, but oh well. I tag: whoever wants to be tagged! Have fun!

Snow White and Dopey

Ok, you guys are good guessers! This year for Halloween Kaylee dressed up as another Disney Princess.... Snow White! So to keep them co-ordinating, I decided Crew had to be Dopey! (Last year Kaylee was Cinderella and Crew was a pumpkin... it kind of goes together).

Everyone could not stop commenting about how darn cute Crew was! He, of course, loved all the attention and kept smiling and looking adorable! Kaylee was just so beautiful, she plays a princess very well. They went so well together it was amazing... especially since Crew is like half of Kaylee's size, he was a perfect dwarf!

We had another block party at the neighbors... can anyone say "Tradition!"? It was so fun and so great to see everyone out and all the little kids playing together.

Pumpkin Carving

Happy Halloween everyone! Today was a fun day! Kaylee and I carved a pumpkin, and it turned out so cute! It was anything fancy, just your average smiling jack-o-lantern.

Missing my better half

Chris left for Houston on Monday. He got chosen to spend a week there and take all sorts of meetings regarding safety and leadership. I am really proud of him and his accomplishments with his job. He works hard and is very humble about it all. He wont be home until Friday night so the kids and I are missing him terribly. Everyday when he comes home from work the kids run to the door and start jumping up and down and screaming, "Daddy!" It's so cute. He always knows how to make me laugh too. Even when the jokes are usually about me! So you can bet it's pretty quiet around here without him. I thought I would like the quiet, but I actually don't. I love you Chris! Can't wait to see you on Friday!

Swim, Bike, Run

Well, I did it again! I finished my 5th Triathlon. This time the weather was great, the water was cold, and I was ready! Chris came along to take pictures and be my little cheering section. I crushed my best time by 10 min! And although I did great, I still feel like I could do better. So I am going to train harder for the next time. I even want to start doing these triathlons more frequently too.

You can see my head in the middle of the crowd. (Probably the only one looking at the camera)Chris got some good video of me on my bike, but not any good close ups of me riding. I got this one off the website from the company that took photos.

And here I am finishing! I ended up finishing in 10th for my age group, 96th for my gender, and 265th overall.
I finished with a best time of 1:47:44.8!

Kaylee's Birthday

Since we were in Utah on Kaylee's birthday we celebrated it with Chris' side of the family. We took family photos that night and afterward we all went to this fun splash park and ate pizza and cake. She had a great time with her cousins.

2nd Amendment

Last night Chris and I got a babysitter and went on a shooting date! Chris is really big into guns right now, and after last night, I think they are pretty awesome! We drove out to Lake Pleasant and did a little shooting with the pistols.

The ground was covered in shells! It was like a beach of bullet shells, and debris!

Chris is crazy good!
After that, we drove over to the Ben Avery shooting range cause Chris wanted to shoot his riffle. He let me shoot the riffle too.

I did pretty well! Check out my target!

It's awesome with the scope that he has on it. Then when we were leaving the range Chris saw this huge tarantula walking across the road! We stopped and took a few pics, I've never seen one in the wild before!

Pupcakes

Kaylee's birthday is tomorrow, but since we are going to be traveling to Utah so I can compete in a triathlon on Saturday ::breathe:: we made cupcakes, or pupcakes (like Kaylee calls them) to bring to her school on Wednesday. I didn't wimp out and go with a boxed cake mix...being inspired by my lovely girlfriends who are amazing bakers, I made them from scratch! I also made the icing! Kaylee helped crack the eggs, stir the batter, lick the spoons, and of course pour on the sprinkles! And oh yes, they were yummy!

Chair Covers...

I have been putting my crafty-ness to the test. I made chair pad covers for my new table's chairs. This will prevent quick stains, and I got an awesome fabric that is also reversible! I love it! My curtains will be next, I found a way cute matching fabric for those too!

Seriously?

Back in 2006 Chris and I bought our truck from this guy named Reggie. We went into his little office space to do some paper work and when he left his office we noticed that his full name was Reginald Poindexter! We were laughing so hard, we were red when he came back into the office and there were tears coming out of my eyes! We tryed to play it cool, but when he left again I had to snap a picture of his little plaque cause I thought no one would believe me! But seriously, who names their kid like this?

Kaylee's a Pre-Schooler!

The day finally came! Kaylee went to her first day of Pre-School today and she loved it! She was so excited this morning when she was getting ready. I took her outside for the traditional "first day of school" photos, and I also tried to take pictures of her going into her class... my battery died once we got inside though :o(

St. George Gettaway!

Last weekend we travelled to St. George to see Chris' little brother Spencer get married. It was a beautiful wedding, and the reception was AMAZING! The kids really enjoyed playing with all their cousins, and also seeing Grandma and Grandpa again. Chris had a blast going fishing with his brothers, and also shooting, seeing movies, going out to eat, and just hanging out with all of them. I got to get ready for the wedding with my sisters-in-law by getting a pedicure. It was a great time. Congratulations to Spencer and our new sister-in-law Taylor! We can't wait to spend more time with you. Come and visit us here in AZ!

What Not to Wear

So the other day I was flipping thru channels and I came across this show called, "What Not to Wear." I'd seen it before and thought, man, these poor people have no clue what fashion means! It wasn't till this last time I watched it and I saw this girl who had the same kind of mentality as I did about clothes. I like to wear stuff that is bold, crazy, and probably a little too "young" for me. I love character shirts, and so did this chick! Well, they set her straight and told her how ridiculous she looked. Now I want more than anything for them to snatch me up and change my wardrobe! Oh well, I will just have to start taking someone besides my daughter with me when I go clothes shopping to get some more "grown-up" advice!

Motherly Insticts

I took Kaylee to the last "Summer Movie Fun" day today. It was Wallace and Grommet (cute movie). When the movie ended Kaylee and I got up (Crew was with Andrea, he's not well behaved in the movies anymore), we were walking toward the exit and a boy that was probably about 7 or 8 came running into the movie theater. Kaylee was slightly behind me, so I turned to grab her and get her out of his way, but just as I turned around, BAM! He hit Kaylee football tackle style! She went flying backwards (popcorn flying), and landed on her back! The boy paused, looked back and kept running away!! I was SHOCKED! I yelled, "Excuse ME!" (only thing I could think of), but he didn't turn around. I gathered Kaylee up, crying and all. I was so upset! I know accidents happen, but to not stop and say sorry, or help the little girl up? Who has taught this child manners? I waited outside the theater, ready to beat the living tar out of this child when he came out, I've never before felt so compelled to protect my child...but then I realized that probably wouldn't be the best example for Kaylee. So instead I just explained to her that his behavior was very rude, and that we were better than him.

Ready for School!

Kaylee and I went school shopping today. She got to pick out two outfits, a new pair of shoes, a backpack and one folder! She was sooo happy, she wanted to take a photo shoot when we got home. I kid you not, she did all of these cute poses on her own! She should be a model! Not to mention a bargain shopper! She picked out good deals(she takes after her mom).

Which One?

Ok, so I am having a little trouble deciding how to decorate my house. I first decided with the yellows and greens based with some dark brown... but Chris isn't lovin it. He would like something a little less bold, more neutral. I don't have a problem with neutral, I just don't want boreing. So I made both of these curtains, let me know which one you like better.

Memory Game

Here is a fun little game... leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. Come on, it'll be fun, just try it!

Allergic

I took Crew to an Allergist yesterday to finally see what he is really allergic to. Here's a list of the things they tested for:

Dogs: Yes
Cats: No
Feathers: Yes
Eggs: Yes
Peas: Yes
Mold: Yes

The doctor wants me to avoid giving him any eggs period! Even if they are baked, fried, or whatever. He says that is most likely why his eczema is so bad. He also prescribed some steroid cream for that and also an epi-pen in case he has a bad allergic reaction to something. He'll get tested again next year for the same things to see if he's grown out of them or not. Hopefully it's not too hard to have an egg free diet!

30 Years and More

A few weekends ago my sister, sister-in-law, and I threw a surprise 30th Anniversary party for my Mom and Dad. They had no idea! It was so great. All of my dad's family drove in from California and my mom's sister came too! I prepared a video montage of them from childhood till now and there wasn't a dry eye in the room! My sister-in-law also wrote this wonderful poem, it was funny and cute and also a tear jerker! I am just so amazed at how much love my parents still have for eachother after 30 years. I look up to them in so many ways, and I just know that if Chris and I can have one tenth of the love they share, we will be happy forever!

Wanted

I know it's not good to be greedy, and to want irrelevant material things....but I really really really want this book shelf from Ikea! It would go perfectly in my little house!

New Hair-Do!

Sara's in town and we have been keeping busy. We have gone swimming, shopping, to the movies, out to several eateries, and most of all... reading lots of books! We just barely got back from getting our 'hair-did'. We also picked up an awesome glow-in-the-dark puzzle that Sara and Kaylee are putting together.

What a Waste!

This weekend Chris took the kids up to Utah to visit family, and bring back his little sister Sarah. I stayed to hopefully enjoy a nice weekend of peace and quiet. Of course I happened to get sick on Wednesday night from what I thought was food poisening. Come to find out I more than likely have contracted Giardia. I'm not 100% on this, but I will find out tomorrow at the doctors. My brother's dog had Giardia, and we believe gave it to Crew (who hasn't been feeling good either, and I thought just had a cold), and I ended up with this awful virus. So my lovely weekend was ruined, and I have just been lying around in my own misery. On the positive side, I have lost a few pounds!

You leave 'em alone for 5 minutes...

I ran to take a quick shower before work to come out and find Kaylee and Crew taking over my office!

Same ol', Same ol'

We've been staying busy with our normal summer routine getting under-way. We go swimming very often, early morning park visits, kid Movies at the movie theater once a week, play dates, we just started doing t-ball with some other neighborhood kids, and I guess soccer too!

Crew is our little monkey boy, he climbs on everything, uses his walker to get around everywhere (he has taken a few steps on his own recently, but still very nervous about that). He has this car that Santa got him last year and he sits on it and pushes himself around the house. He even steers it! We think he's alot like Chris because he's too lazy to walk and would rather be pushed (it's Chris' dream to own a wheel-chair).

Kaylee is doing great, she is so involved in everything now! (swimming, t-ball, and starting next week soccer!) Her tooth that she got fixed last month went bad, and the dentist ended up having to pull it. I told her that a new tooth will come in where the old one was (in a few years obviously), and everyday she keeps telling me that the new tooth isn't there yet... I don't know how long that will last!

Chris got home from Guatemala on Memorial Day. He had such a great time. He took alot of pictures, but he said that he wants to be the one to blog about it, so I'll leave that up to him. He's back to working, and keeping busy with the kids and Xbox. Not to mention the occasional drooling over all the scopes he's looking at for his new gun! I swear, this never ends!

I'm keeping busy too, I just wrapped up my last session of swim lessons. *Not a big response this summer, maybe next year!* I bought a new car last week and it's amazing! It even has air conditioning in it! I must admit though, I miss driving the buick at times with it's comfortable seats and smooth cushion-y ride. My boss started doing Weight Watchers, and I told her I would do it with her too. We started on Monday and so far so good! I really want to get into shape for the Triathlon in September. (Becca you better be doing it with me! :o) *)
