One Busy Week!

This week was so much fun! The in-laws came to town and we had a blast! I'll try to go in order of the week's events...
1. Bike Ride to the park: One morning I woke up and the weather was nice so I decided to take the kids to the park. Not the park down the street but the park at Vistancia. It's this glorified community that is a few miles from our neighborhood. It has an awesome recreation area with pools and parks. So I packed the kiddos into the bike trailer and took off, not really knowing how far it was mileage-wise, but I didn't think it would be that far. It was a little over 6 miles away... not that bad, but pulling the big tub of concrete behind me(the kids in the trailer), made it really difficult. Especially going up the hills it took to get there. It was an incredible work-out and every once and awhile Kaylee would throw in a remark to "Go Faster Mommy!" HA!

Once we finally got to the park we enjoyed a nice breakfast that I packed and played on the neat equipment that the park consisted of. Crew loved the swings, and Kaylee didn't want to leave.

2. Arizona Science Center: When the in-laws got in town we had a few things planned. Going to the Science Center was one of them. It is located in down-town Phoenix, and Chris' sisters don't really get to see stuff like that very often. I thought it would be fun! It was a blast! We spent almost 5 hours there! We went to lunch for some of that, but it was a good time. I forgot to bring my camera to this unfortunately.

3. Wildlife World Zoo: On the second day of the visit we went to the zoo. This was also really fun, but the tempature was starting to go up and we were worried that it might get too hot for the little ones. We went early in the day and met up with my sister-in-law Erin and her two kids, Brady and Alina. Kaylee and Crew were outfitted with hats, sunglasses, sun screen, water bottles, and toys. They also got their own strollers! How spoiled are they?

Here's Erin with the kids ready for a day of fun!

Everyone in this shot is looking at all the little monkeys. There were so many different types it's crazy!
One of my favorite things was being able to feed the Giraffes! They had this sort of dock that jets out into their living area where you can go up and feed them little pellets of food. Kaylee didn't really enjoy doing it because I think the large tounge of the giraffe scared her.

We also went on a little train ride that was very interesting. The train conductor gave us information on all the animals as we passed by them. It was interesting and we got really close to some cool animals. This is one of my favorite pictures.

4. Racecar Drivers Beware!: Our neighbors Chad and Lisa invited us to go do some racecar driving. There is this indoor track with little go-carts and an awesome track that looks crazy hard to drive. Chris did awesome of course! The carts can get up to speeds of 45 mph and I think Chris was going at max speed. He came in first both times they raced. It was pretty sweet!

5. Backyard Campout: Last but not least Chris and Kaylee camped out in our backyard. The weather is great the sky is clear and stars are everywhere! The only problem.. our neighbor just planted winter grass and it smells of manure! This is why I stayed indoors... also to be near to Crew if he were to wake up... Kaylee loves being with her daddy. They had a great time. Now Kaylee wants to sleep in the backyard every night! We definately have a Syphus girl on our hands here!

Eclipse

Alright, I finally finished this book. It was breath-taking! I think the reason I took so long to finish this one is because I just didn't want it to end! I can't wait for the next book to come out! For anyone out there wondering if they should read these books... do it!

IKEA

My sister-in-law, Erin, and I took a little trip to IKEA today. We took her awesome van and loaded up all the kiddies. It's a pretty far drive from where I live. The kids had a blast being in the car together. They made so much noise!

We ate lunch there and they have this cute little cafeteria. It was actually pretty good food! Alot better than my days of school lunches! For the first time Crew sat in a high chair and he ate lunch with us! He loved it... he looked like such a big kid! Brady and Kaylee sat in the kids area that was full of tables and chairs just their size, not to mention toys all around and Curious George playing on a DVD player! Lucky!

I did get some pretty cool stuff while I was there. I ended up with some stuff for Crew's crib, as well as the cool rug that Becca inspired me to get. I really wanted to redo the kid's room and spread the toys into the guest room, but with a little cleaning and organization I managed to make everything fit into just their room and it seems so much cleaner now too! If only Kaylee would keep it that way!

Family Reunion Campout

This past weekend the whole Syphus family (minus Alan because he had to work) went camping on the North Timp Point of the Grand Canyon. It was incredible! Spencer just got home from his mission so we went to celebrate his return. The weather was very nice. Cold in the mornings and night but the day weather couldn't have been better! We did so much stuff. The first night we got there we just set up and ate dinner, then went to the look out point less than a mile away from camp site and watched the sunset. It was beautiful! We forgot to bring our camera to that unfortunately.

These are the creators of the Syphus Family. Doug and Wendy. Aren't they cute?

The un-married kids of the family... We're so glad you're back Spencer! It was like you weren't even gone... still the same old "Unky Spunky!"

Kaylee really enjoyed riding the 4 wheeler with dad and me. Unfortunately when we went for our ride I got lost with Amanda and Kaylee aboard. We ran through some mud and got so dirty. We finally made it back to camp after two unsuccessful attempts to find the right way.

Laura and Mr. Cooper, Tasha and Mr. Cash, and Ben and Mr. Cash

Cohen and Kaylee after they took an awesome ride on the rope swing that Jesse put up.

Doug and I took a bike ride on the Rainbow Rim Trail. It went up and down canyons and along side the rim of the Grand Canyon. It was pretty intense, but it was kind of fun. We only did 5 miles of the 14 because everyone else was just waiting on us to go see Point Sublime.

This was at Point Sublime. It took us two hours on a bumpy road. It was only 25 miles away from camp, and the trip made me car sick. But once we got to the look-out it was all worth it! Chris is such a poser, but he's totally cute!

Me and Crew standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon. It was super windy and I couldn't get my hair out of my face to get my picture taken. It was beautiful and so breath-taking. You could even see the Colorado River from where we were.

Isn't he just so cute!?
